Overall objective: To promote stronger integration of the cross-border territory by implementing a pack of energy efficiency and planning measures for a balanced and sustainable development of the region. 

 

Specific objectives: 

1.) Promoting innovative practices in the energy planning and energy efficiency spheres for municipalities and individual consumers (households);

2.) Establishment of a pilot, cross-border public monitoring system for energy consumption at municipal level

3.) Mapping the energy demand, supply and potential for improvement of the local energy mix;

4.) Development of an electronic platform for sustainable local energy planning. 

 

Project Activities

Project team structuring, distribution of main functions, management and coordination;

Preparation and organization of tender procedures;

Study of best practice in energy planning and energy efficiency fields:

(1) Good practices in the sphere of energy planning and measures for energy efficiency identification;

(2) Guidance/ Methodology for supporting decision taking for investments and energy planning;

(3) Handbook with tips for households and municipal energy planning and application of measures for energy efficiency;

Supplement and installation of equipment for conduction of public monitoring in Kostinbrod and Dimitrovgrad municipalities;

Mapping the energy demand, supply and potential for improvement of the local energy mix;

Energy Audits of public facilities/buildings;

Supplement of a software for energy planning in the municipalities;

Information campaign for the platform popularization both in Bulgaria and in Serbia including two workshops for demonstration of the platform, its tools, software and ect.;

Publicity and visualization.

 

Project Results

5% increase in conversance of the local authorities and households;

An electronic platform developed (specialized Internet site), where the best practices in the sphere of energy planning and measures for energy efficiency will be collected, systematized and published.

Researches/studies conducted: (1) Good practices identification; (2) Guidance/ Methodology for supporting decision taking for investments and energy planning; (3) Handbook with tips for households energy planning and application of measures for energy efficiency;

Two (2) energy managers supporting the Municipalities trained

Two workshops organized (one in Bulgaria and one in Serbia) for demonstration of the platform, its tools, software, and ect.
